Egg ignoring FOS

It was 6 February 2008 when I turned to FOS after Egg refused to accept that PPI on my credit would never have paid out for me (on two counts) and in the end the FOS agreed. I have a letter from the Ombudsman dated 18th November 2009 saying they'd told Egg to refund the money. I quote "It is of course now for Egg to make the payment to you" and Egg were given till the 18th January to comply.
Ive received no refund, no correspondence from Egg. So on the 18th I called the FOS who said they would chase Egg up - they said they'd do that by email.
Its Friday 23rd January and Ive tried all week to speak to the FOS again - the direct number I have for the individual/department that is probably dealing with my claim. They told me a while ago that my case was in a bundle of others - probably with the same circumstances. I suspect Egg hasnt paid anyone - hence the constant engaged tone.
Given that it is only because I am in financial difficulty that I'm even at this advanced stage of the process and I'd guess the other poor folks in the same "bundle" as me are in the same position, it makes me VERY angry that Egg haven't been prompt and are no doubt dragging their heels STILL.
I wondered if anyone here had more positive experience of this situation or if there are a few thousand others who are also waiting and I trust, not holding their breath. :cool:

Sorry to hear your still waiting for your refund.
My hubbys Credit Card PPI (lloyds) was resolved through the FOS and was told that if he hears nothing by 4 weeks of the FOS letter of the refund is to chase the bank up.
This was resolved in approx November 2009, and the FOS letter was dated 4 December 09, so we chased Lloyds up over the last 2 weeks and heard nothing, so like yourself on the 18 Jan we emailed the one who was dealing with the case within the FOS who also confirmed he was to contact Lloyds and get back to my hubby, but up to now nothing.
Hopefully it will be Monday now when hubby will hear again, as hubby also tried emailing the FOS to ask for an update but no-one got back to him today.

I know FOS have made contact but have you tried ringing Egg directly and see what they have to say for themselves? It's worth a try!!0 -
