  • just a note re waitrose £10 off offer :

my large tesco - refused this "£10 off a £50 spend at waitrose" coupon last week . i had spent over £150 with them at the time. today i rang customer services and was told that they don't accept these conditional coupons as a policy any more, but some stores may at their discretion ... when i asked how i would know which store would accept them or not, i was told i'd have to ask the manager of each store, she couldn't tell me, and besides then the manager might change his mind the next day. how helpful.
i have already bought today's telegraph and spent it at waitrose. i shall get tomorrow's as well and spend that at waitrose mid-week.

** thanks to all of you who post here, i always check in before i go out! **
  • Response to cestlavie - I had the same issue with Tesco not accepting the Waitrose voucher. I e-mailed the CEO and this week he sent me a personal letter confirming they do accept all conditional spend coupons if the minimum spend has been met. I suggest ringing back Dundee and asking to speak to Paul (Customer Service Executive to the CEO). Complain about Dundee and explain the situation. Tesco do not want to lose custom over this but they are useless at telling their stores. My store is now accepting the coupons and I got assurances from the manager.

You might also consider ringing Customer Services back because the person you got obvioulsy doesn't know their A"SS from their elbow. And certainly doesn't know what they are talking about. Did you call Dundee (ie Clubcard) or Customer Services?

There was a HOST message sent to all Tesco Stores on 5 January informing them that Tesco as a company take competitor spend coupons from:

    Sainsburys
    Morrisons
    Asda
    Coop
    M&S
    Waitrose
    Boots
    Coop

Store Managers DO NOT have the right to refuse them and it certainly isn't up to their descretion.:mad: It makes me FURIOUS when idiot managers decide they know best and try and implement their own policies. They have no right to do so. The company policy is to accept them. The more people who fight the stores that think they know better will result if their being more transparency. Personally, I have been avoiding T for some time just because of their inability to be consistent.

    There - Rant Over.
  • they accepted the waitrose coupon at leyland tescos last week
one of the people on customer services asked the other one who said yes
    the sa didnt know either

tescos got funny when i tried to use the voucher from the star for the free skinny water it says in the paper you cna use it against pomegranete ,original and cola flavour but it wouldnt go through on the cola or pomegrante flavours

so if they question it just point out its on the coupon and they should do manual overide

despite it saying on the coupon it does
