Need to move electric on from BG to ???

I need to move my electricity only from BG to some other provider. I'm currently on the BG standard tariff.!!! paying £45/month.
The two that seem to appeal are either:
EQUIPOWER & EQUIGAS - Standard
or
EdF Energy - Capped Price until Jan 2008 (£35 in nector points for joining and 2500 ongoing/year)
(Can't get EDF online tarriff as I am only moving one fuel)
Any comments on the above 2 or any other recommendations.

BG Electricity is normally pretty competitive; their gas isn't.
Who supplies your gas?
Electricity prices vary accross the country and some companies are more competitive in one area than another.0 -

Gas is also from British Gas but I've been in a price cap since 2004 (I think) which capped until April 2007 - so it would not make sense to move that anywhere as all other suppliers are now more exepnsive. Just finished the cap on my electric in Mar 06 hence I want to just move the electric.0 -
Can anyone help.... ???0

I would be interested to know too. I have just electric with BG and my monthly payment has just jumped by £50 a month!!!!! When I rang she said it is because they have had two price increases recently and they had calculated on my previous usage. I thought I had it capped but apparently that has expired. I can have it capped again at a cost of 4% of my usage.0

Surely someone must be able to advise if EDF Energy or Equipower & Equigas are any good. Which one is the better of the two?0

I have move from British Gas, first for my gas one and half year ago, and this year I have moved my electricity to equipower. Southern electric is handling the accounts for Ebico. I am very happy with the service, I had a bit of a problem when I moved my electricity as I was the victim of an erroneous transfer from NPower, but it was handled very well by southern electric, and now I am definitively back with equipower. Even if there is a possible price rise in the horizon in september from Ebico, I believe they still will be competitive enough for people to stay with them, as nowadays good customer service is priceless. Have you looked into atlantic,I have been with them for over 3 years and have found then to be consistantly the best or in the top three.even with all the price cahanges that have taken place.
They are now my 4th supplier since the market opened in late 1996 and I review my supplier at least every 6 months.
