I have just found out from mate that Morgan have gone bust.
She was a manageress in one of their shops and has been told to get stuffed cos she wont get paid. Not a happy bunny.
Anyway for MSE users me thinks there will be some bargains to grab at there stores and consessions.
That's if your built like Victoria Beckham or thinner of course!!

From BBC business news 29/6/06
Clothing retailer Morgan UK has called in the administrators, blaming tough times on the High Street. The fashion chain has 19 independent stores across the UK and 47 concessions in department stores.
Morgan Retail UK said the decision to wind down the business would lead to around 600 job losses.
It added it was looking to sell the business, but French parent Morgan SA has withdrawn its distribution agreement, leaving it with no stock.
The company has appointed David Crawshaw and Myles Halley of KPMG Restructuring as administrators.
Like-for-like sales at the UK division sank 19.1% during the first six months of the year to £11.8m.0 -
I'm not surprised at their prices - tiny pieces of material held together by a bit of string marketed as a "top" for 40 quid. You don't have to have a pHd to realise they're not going to sell much when you've got Primark and New Look as competition...0

We'd need photographic evidence before judging!!0 -
I have had a few morgan bits bought in thier sales over time and I have to say the quality is fantastic, washes brilliantly.
Take the point about the sizing though. Only at my slimmest could I squeeze into anything, when I was a size 10 I used to have to wear thier large. PLus some of the clothing is very slu**y- usually left on the sale racks right at the end of the sales, still no one biting:beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
Plus you have to be a size 8 or less to wear their clothes! I also really hated the way they sold those tops with their name printed all over, how is that a good look!!!
This may be a good thing for customers, perhaps the other stores will sit up and realise that customers want more!!!!Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely
in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways -
Chardonnay in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up,
totally worn out and screaming "WOO HOO, What a Ride!0 -
That`s my luck,it`s so annoying:mad:
I saw a great pair of shorts on sale in Morgan last week in Brent X,but i didn`t buy them...don`t ask why!
And now they closed,i was wondering what happened:rolleyes: ...no note on the window, nothing!
But i agree that they are too expensive for that small amount of material they use, that`s why i was waiting for the SALE!!!
Sorry i`m size 8:o0 -

Perhaps Morgan didn't want to see fat people wearing their clothes.
If you are trying to create and maintain a fashionable brand that people are willing to pay a premium price for, the last thing you are going to do is make sizes that allow fat people to wear your clothes.0
