Minimum Call Charges, Superline & Orchid

1)With all the focus on call charges, is there a list somewhere of minimum call charges (aka as call set-up or call connection fee)?
With BT now being 9.05p (+ the call charge) it all adds up.

2)Do all CPS pre-dial providers avoid the BT charge - even if the line rental is still with BT?

3)Does anyone know about a CPS called Superline? Their website looks up to date but the last threads on MSE were 2006.
www superline.co.uk

4) Has Orchid stopped selling dialers?

Thanks

If you use a cps call supplier yes your avoid BT,s minimum call charge but your pay your call suppliers minimum call charge where appropriate.

Whats the benefit of moving to Superline?

Superline 24/7 Uk call package £6.99 a month not including 0845/0870

BT 24/7 Uk call package £4.99/£5.99 including 0845/0870.

If you man BT's call set-up fee, yes.

Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.

    On the face of it:
Superline - "A minimum call charge of 3p is applied to all calls" with no mention of a "call set-up charge"

    BT
"A minimum charge will apply to all calls, except where they are
part of monthly minutes." - but BT do have a call set-up charge of 9.05p

So the 60% of my calls that are 2 mins or less would be cheaper with Superline.
The point is these call connection/set-up charges are creeping up, they add up and are often buried in the small print.

That said, my most expensive calls are a hadnful of 0871 - so maybe that's what I should address.

If you cant justify an inclusive 01/02/03/0845/0870 call plan where no connection fee, minimum call charge, call connection fee, call it what you will, will apply on the those calls, then consider using www.18185.co.uk for your 01/02/3 calls. Just 5p connection.

If you make 0845/0870,and mobile calls Superline is expensive.

    Just called Orchid.
They don't sell "to end users" - and haven't done since April 2009.

They only sell in batches of 200. The lady mentioned supplying first:telecom and Cable & Wireless - but preprogrammed for them.

Having just signed up for 18185, I'm not sure if I can get the rest of the family to add the prefix (they don't pay the bill !)

What are the chances of that helpful chap Heinz organising a mass-puchase (or Martin)???
