Help - got a virus

i got an email ( spam email) from dhl that says parcel has tried to be delivered you need to pick it up from warehouse, etc, I had no reasonno tto trust it as i infact had my approved food order go missing and delivered to the wrong address so clicked ont he attachment, now i know i have downloaded a virus and my computer wont run properly. Not sure what to do, I have McAfee that i downloaded from HSBC, but this does not detect the virus, as i keep getting a warnign alert poppin up, and it keeps freezing my back ground has turned green, and help on what i can do to get id of the virus will be appreciated ( so glad i got my daughter a netbok for xmas now lol)

download, install and run Malwarebytes from http://www.malwarebytes.com

i had similar thing.. a pop up asking for my credit card details ( it said it was microsoft security) and all my icons disappeared from the desktop!! i managed to do a system restore and then i went through my computer with a fine tooth comb!! malaware etc etc and got rid of a few virus's thank god...0

before i had a chance to download the malware software last night, the i finished the scan i had running, deleted infected files etc, rebooted, and now i log in, it takes me to the icon window for a few seconds then automatically logs me out. Think my computer is dead

Try starting in safe mode. While the computer is starting up, repeatedly press the F8 key. If/when you get a menu of options for starting Windows, choose "Safe Mode with Networking".
If this works, you should then be able to proceed with the download.Je suis Charlie.0 -

something is happening................ it is in safe mode, but it wont let me get past login, i put in my username and pass word but it just jumps back to the empty log in window

when you boot to safe mode the hidden administrator profile nornally appears , try that oneEx forum ambassador
