Any help with Windows Movie Maker?

I need some help with my Windows Movie Maker.
When I open it, it pops up with an error message.
This has been happening since I got this computer (Few years ago) and it's getting really annoying now.
I know the obvious option is to re-install it BUT I really don't want to have to find the disc and I'm worried I'll lose all my files :undecided:undecided:undecided
Help?
