We're off to Blackpool for a week in May, only cost £88 for 4 of us in a caravan at Cala Gran.
Now wanting to keep costs down I have a few questions.
1. Can we get a family pass for the trams for the week?
2. If not, can anyone reccommend cheap/free parking places in Blackpool. Last time we went we parked at Central pier in a car park that stunk of !!!! and charged us about £9ish for the pleasure. I know of free parking in Fleetwood and Cleveleys so that is not a problem.
3. Other than the usual attractions (Pleasure Beach, Tower, amusements and Sandcastle) can anyone reccomend other places to visit?
Many Thanks

I'd recommend the roads just north of the Pleasure Beach, there's no restrictions there.0

we went to Blackpool circus last year- i went there as a child for my birthday treat and it was as good if not better many years on - i would recommend itThe mind is like a parachute. It doesn’t work unless it’s open.:o

Hi,
The trams are NOT running, big replacement prom in progress for 2 years.
Take the car and park up the side streets or the train station at North shore is the cheapest.
The Tower in the good with the Circus, Jungle jims play park & magic show on inside it's an all day event
Sealife center is good but is over very quick
Waxwork is very good (I recommend this as the kids loved, you get to dress up as a jedi, play in a band, take a camera) I also found this on there site Save your Blackpool Tower tickets from your visit and when you present them at the Waxworks save up to 50% on the Ticket Price (offer not available on the Group Saver tickets, valid up to 7 days after time of purchase).
WaterWorld is good if you like swimming and going down water chutes, my kids loved this.

If you are looking for parking in Blackpool look on a site called Parkopedia?
it is great you just input the area you are looking to park and it tells you where the carparks are and how much they cost.
Also make sure you get some Blackpool Rock - mmm yummy - have fun

Please be careful if you park down side streets as suggested above, most side streets are Resident Parking only and you cant park there without a permit! Hounds Hill shopping centre car park is good value and is in Blackpool Town Centre.
The zoo is great here and Stanley Park is opposite the Zoo along with the Model Village!0 -
Are you aware that Cala Gran is in Fleetwood...
Across the road from there you have Farmer Parrs which is a lovely day out.
The car park above Wilkinsons is good value about 50p p/h...
As said above nearly all side streets are residents only parking.0 -

Hi chaps,
Just thought i'd clear up on the tram front! Mass confusion hehe
Blackpools trams are closed for major upgrade works until Easter 2010 - likely early April - when a section of tramway from Pleasure Beach to Ash Street (Fisherman's Walk) in Fleetwood will re-open. The sections from Pleasure Beach to Starr Gate and Ash Street (Fisherman's Walk) to Fleetwood Ferry will remain closed until Easter 2012. The tramway will then close again for winter 2010/1, re-open Easter 2011, and finally close once more winter 2011/2.
Full details of the upgrade works will be appearing in the next edition of 'Tramways Monthly' (tramways-monthly.com), of which I am the Editor, and also regular updates will be available on 'Live In Blackpool!' (liveinblackpool.co.uk).
Please note it was not my intention to come across as 'spamming' these links, I came to try and help this person out with when and where the trams will be running, and I feel that these links will help as they can give the latest news.
Regards,
Jack0
