Ford Focus MK1 Brake Pad Change

No problem at all just doing the front (or the back). This is how I done mine and also on previous vehicles.Hi Everyone
If there is anyone mechanically minded out there: Is there anything wrong with just changing the front brake pads and disks on the focus?. Intend to do the drums at the back at a later date but do not really have the time to do it all at once.
Also, are there any known issues with changing brakes on this model of car? Its a 51 plate mk1 focus, 1.6 zetec petrol engine.
Advice appreciated
Thanks
MP
I have a Y reg 1.8 Zetec, took me 30 min to change discs and brakes. Only problem was the allen key (a 17mm I think), sods law it was the only key I did not have. It seemed every set I looked at ended the size before. Eventually managed to get one from Screwfix0 -
7mm, draper do one

Advice now is to crack the bleed nipple when you push the pistons back, very occasionally you can disturb a seal in the ABS, or master cylinder otherwise.0 -
There is absoultly, totally, 100% no need to do the back and front at the same time. Totally unessecary.
In my experience rear pads tend to go around about the 80k mark whereas the fronts (which do the majority of the braking) tend to go a lot lot quicker.Proud of who, and what, I am. :female::male::cool:0
