PPI Reclaiming Misery

Hi everyone

Be aware all RBS customers!!!

this is realy for all those people who think they cannot deal with claiming back the ppi for themselves. I wished i checked out the info more throughly on this website before i used a claims handling company (CHC) to help me. Although they have very sucessful reclaimed money from alliance & leicester for me, the Nat west ( RBS) is a hole different matter. The RBS have now cancelled my PPI as a offer has been made although i have not signed anything to agree to the offer. They said that they had to cancel it to get a offer!! We have been left with a £13,000 loan un protected bacause we were told that the RBS wouldnt cancel it until we accepted by the claims handling company. We still require insurance but were never told by RBS at the beginning that we could shop around for insurance and did not advise us that is was a single premium insurance where they were going to add interest for this onto the loan.

The other point of misery we have is that because we had a single payment loan insurance the CHC have charged us on getting the loan reduced and it does not clearly explain it in their paper work. Make sure you claim it back yourselves to save on money and misery. We are lucky that we will have enough money to pay them out of cash settlement with a tiny bit left, but i have heard that some end up owing the company money!!!

Thank you for telling us about your experience and for warning others and Im sorry you hadnt come onto the forum before yours dealings with the above as most people on here would advise that you go for it yourself. At least you are slightly ahead of the game and havent ended up owing money.:eek:
