Ppi reclaiming

Personal loan two years ago. Had previous loans and always took insurance so assumed better to do so. When asked if I wanted it said yes and was told better to have it just in case of sickness unemployment etc. Nothing else discussed re insurance.
Made redundant last year and unemployed for 3 months but paid loan from redundancy payment as DSS were difficult about completing claim forms.
Now have job with half previous salary. Anything I can do re claiming insurance back?

Hi and welcome.
So did you actually pay off the loan with your redundancy money?
Or the monthly repayments?
Don't know where you would have stood with this on a reclaim as you did not continue with this when you were made redundant, but there are many reasons on how you can reclaim on the PPI.
I would check the info and useful guidelines of reclaiming, which incudes reasons for being mis sold, in case any of what is listed applies to you as well, and if so give it a go.
With you assumed it was part of the loan, they obviously did not discuss the policy with you, so for this reason you may also have a case, because for a start if they did discuss this with you, you would have known if you were eligible to make a successful claim or not, and there may have been pre existing medical conditions, if this was the case then you would not have been successful in making a reclaim.
But please check the info on this link below and take it from there:

If you still think you have a case and require any help, please just ask.
Good luck with this.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"
