Just seen this on Hotukdeals, so i am not the OP

The Olay Definity eye gift box, £24.99 online but scans at £6.49 instore even though SEL shows full price.
It contains a full sized Olay Definity eye illuminator which is currently £24.99 alone.

New skincare voucher out tomorrow (wys £5) for various brands including Olay which may work with this making it even cheaper.

picked one of these up today in the trafford centre, had a few no7 bits too so went to the ss tills to pay rather than have to do seperate transactions at the other tills, did the no7 stuff 1st and as I was in the middle of doing it a very rude SA came over & took the olay out of my basket!!!!!!! There were 2 of them, they said there was a problem with it and i needed to scan the actually definity cream not the box, told her i didn't want it if it wasnt on offer. Was so shocked at the way she just stomped over and took it out without so much as an excuse me, I could have really argued that i am entitled to pay what the item scans at but she had it in her hands by then:mad: Should have done the olay 1st!

What is it with some of these SA'S who do they think they are. The item you wanted to purchase was the Olay gift set not the ingredients seperately. What a shame you did not get it. Try again somewhere else

Oh no!! I bought one today in Liverpool and it scanned £6.25.

Didn't have a new voucher to try with it but I have one now! ;)

I was in boots today and saw the Olay Definity purple gift box on the shelves it said £24.99 but remembered the post on here, though it is unlikely it still is as they must have corrected it then should sod it might as well give it a go. Went up to the self scan and there was a SA there supervising so I said can I use these tills to check a price and she said yes no problem so took my Olay box and scanned it, took a age to show the price. It came up at £6.25 (had to hide my smile) she said do you want to buy it and I said yes, then I said oh I have one of the £5 voucher thing and I think it said I could use it off this, so she took it off me and said you just need to scan it here and pop the voucher into here and preceded to show me how the self scan works (I have used it before but played along). So I go the box set for £1.25 was very pleased with myself, but wasnt brave enough to go back for another!

    It is definetly worth trying.

  • I've been to umpteen stores, and those that still have the boxes vary in price, being either £24.99, or £6.25 - and I know someone who saw some at £12.50!!

But the reduced ones definitely work with the Skinnie! I know. I was that shopper! :j:j:j

  • Hi Everyone

I heard today t(my friends sister works in Boots) that Boots are aware of the Olay gift box glitch.

I'm still going to give it a shot in the Hamilton branch tomorrow:D

  • Not sure if this is the right place to post but i'll give it a go anyway.

Went to get some mini items for our trip to Paris in a few months and got one of the "Boots Smile" mini toothpastes at 49p.

Went to the AC machine and there was a 50 points on purchase of any boots smile product.

Took this to the til, expecting to be told it couldn't be used on minis - it wouldn't scan but the SA did put it through manually as it didn't say on the voucher not to be used with minis so I got paid 1p for the toothpaste :T I was pretty pleased even just for 1p
It's nice to be nutty but's more important to be nice
  • I always get a second voucher when I use a voucher to partly pay. This actually annoys me a bit cos it perpetuates my obsession.

Couldn't agree more! This happened to me today...was spending the Skinnie so my products ended up at £4.95 so found little bits to take me over £5 to get another voucher....came away with about 8... not good!
