Can anyone help please!

Options
Hello,

As I am not really very good with computers I wonder if any one can help please.
I some how got a virus on my computer everything froze and when I restarted it a blue screen came up and it wouldnt do anything.

I did the system restore and have reinstalled everything (Ithink) and done a virus scan etc and every thing seems to be working but the screen is much larger than normal and I cant get it back to normal size. Anyone know how to get it back to normal please.

  • Go to control panel, display setting and you should be able to adjust screen resolution.

Or right click on your desktop, click properties, click on settings tab and click advanced button at bottom of settings tab and then on general tab set DPI setting to Normal.

Is everything larger or just text, is the zoom level icon bottom right set at 100%.

Right click on your desktop, click properties, click settings tab....what is your screen resolution slider set at?

Its sounds as though it has reverted to a default 800 x 600 setting.

Right click the mouse with your cursor on a blank area of your desktop. Then select the settings tab of the Display Properties window that opens. Below the image of your screen it should:
    a) Identify your graphics card - something like Plug and Play Monitor on nVidia/ATi/Radeon xxxxxxx
    b) Identify the current screen resolution with a slider above it with the words "Less" at the lefthand end and "More" at the righthand end.

What is the current resolution set to and where, in terms of the words Less and More, is the slider?
My very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016). :(

If you have reinstalled the OS then you probably haven't reinstalled the graphics drivers. Do a Windows update. That normally picks them up now a days and is easy to do for people who aren't sure what they are doing.
  • Thanks very much for all your help. its all sorted now. thanks again
