young marmalade

I have just come across Young Marmalade as a scheme for insuring young drivers at a more affordable premium and also combining it with new or nearly new car purchase for young drivers. My daughter has just started driving lessons. I wondered if anyone has had experience of this company and had any advice as to whether it is worth investigating further.

My kids couldn't afford the insurance for a new or nearly new car, even without buying the car as well. My daughter can have an old car, and pay the £1000 to insure it for the first few years.
(quick quote for the "new car" is actually above dealers list price, and although the insurance is cheaper for the first year, it would be expensive for an 18 year old in year two)

never had dealings with the car purchase side but a load of people I know have used the 'Provisional marmalade' side for insurance and found them to be ok

Could be, would you be able to afford a new car at 17, with a 5 year loan. I know I didn't.

Nor me but then I only got a choccy father christmas a satsuma and some nuts in my stocking at christmas. Times have changed and some affluent parents may choose to spend their hard earned savings on helping their kids get mobile.
