Warm weather and idiot drivers?
More of a rant than a money saving thing but here goes,
Just had to pass 2 obviously lost holiday makers on road, to my horror they decided to stop at the worst possible location you could have for around 2 miles, they could've stopped around 1/2 a mile down road at a much better and safer place figured out where they wanted to go and then go on. So they decide to park just before a top of hill so anyone passing had to go very carefully in case someone else came hurtling down the hill and hadn't seen them. and crash head on straight into the one passing them - who's fault would that be then? The one overtaking the parked car on bad spot to park or the one parked stupidly?
Knowing I'd be cutting them up if I overtook them succesfully anyway I parked behind them making sure it was ok to overtake to get a torrent of abuse, v signs, horns blazing and when they passed where I'd turned in they were still continuing with the abuse. I had to then risk that I wouldn't be involved in an accident due to his stupidity.
What is it with the warm weather people think it's ok to drive stupidly and undertake and drive erratically, got undertaken by one car this morning and he nearly lost control of his car at one stage (when I'd first noticed him overtaking me as he wasn't aware of the pull on the road and excessively speeding) he then wouldn't get off my tail for around 10 miles and I was on a motorway! I know I'm no angel but if I'm lost I get off the road at suitable location not somewhere which is obviously dangerous to others.
Sorry rant over.

I have the perfect remedy.
Do what I did 10 years ago.Take your class 1,and you can be sure as hell, with 44 tonne sat up their jacksie, they'll think twice about just pulling over in an unsafe place, unless they want their car rear end modified.
Also works well for people who think their car is going to do more damage to my truck, than vice versa, when attempting what is obviously a rather stupid overtaking/undertaking move.
Works for me.......
Ken.That's my mutt in the picture above.0 -
Ah, the dulcit tones of a caring lorry driver....;)Can I help?0

What would've been brilliant if the Traffic Police Officer who lives in our street had just come out of the junction which the idiot was more or less blocking at the same time and given him hassle.
Alas he didn't. Ah well, probably the idiot driver had got a bit lost on the hills and maybe collided with a wall or two (hope not as this would probably cost me more in my tax to pay for the damage!)

standards of driving are dropping by the day, summer or winter. it is very annoying but other than buying an old land rover and hitting them all, what can you do?0

a have a question about undertaking? why do you think ppl undertake.? is it cos the other drivers hog the middle n fast lane on a motorway and drive very slow!!
sometimes, i'm on the motorway and there are a stream of drivers all in the overtaking lane and the rest of the lane is clear!!! is it this macho thing with men or pride ..that they can't go into any other lanes!
also with roundabouts....why do they indicate at the beginning of a roundabout and then turn off at the 3rd or last turning!!!!!smile everyday...cos its free
Live everyday to the Full..cos there is no tomorrow:dance:0 -
David - my ex had an old LR and he used to say the same thing, unfortunately we were in his Sierra when some little old lady decided to not know which pedal to press to stop her new automatic car and hit us at quite a speed (we were stationary).
I was in a car with a 17 year old who's passed his test a few weeks ago and I had to tell him to back off 2 cyclist who appeared to be turning right at a roundabout - he asked me after "how did you know they were turning right?" he had failed to realise that they'd been checking over their right shoulder for around 100 metres... His parallel parking is even worse, from what he said they don't seem to be parking between two cars in L tests nowadays just between two cones if they're unlucky! He hadn't parallel parked since he did his test last year!
Grade - all I can tell you was the one who attempted to undertake me on around 3 occaisions yesterday nearly caused 2 or 3 crashes when he couldn't control his car and was undertaking me and nearly hit the back end of the car I was overtaking at the time to get in front of me
Unfortunately the fact that I slowed down to allow him to pass and he still wouldn't pass me and he just sat on my back bumper for ages after.0
