Park Resorts, Bideford Bay

Hi everyone,

We are looking to go to Park Resorts in Bideford Bay for our hols this year. We have been to Cayton Bay and found this park really nice and not as money draining as 'Haven' parks, however we thought we would travel a bit further this year.
Does anyone have any experience of this park ? The brochure looks nice, but then don't they always !!!

Thanks to all for your help / info. We are looking to go late May / June johnswife, have just been looking at the prices, but Park Resorts are usually alot cheaper than Haven.
Thanks for the link Buffy, i will have a look at that. As it is a long way for us - about a 6 hr drive !!, i just want to get as much info and make sure its worthwhile. 6 hrs in the car, with misses and kids, could be a disaster to start with ! LOL

We went on a Sun Holiday last October half term. We enjoyed it. The standard of accommodation gets some complaints on trip advisor but we were given a 2 bedroom chalet which was absolutely fine, apart from no shower just a bath. The furniture was rickety however. Nice Sainsburys on the main road about 20 minutes drive plus other supermarkets nearby which we did not look for. Went to Exmoor Zoo using Tesco vouchers. The whole area is lovely.
No Matter what you do there will be critics.

We stayed here for a fortnight last year. We have visited all of the big companies over the years and found this site to be above average compared to most. The site is well kept, the entertainment was good and the other facilities were reasonable. Our only slight criticism would have been that the park is on a main road and you cannot go anywhere without a car so nowhere to walk to in the evenings if you just fancied a stroll. However, the area is gorgeous and the site is a really good base to travel about from. Bideford itself is lovely, there is a super park with paddling pool if you have little ones. Clovelly and the Big Sheep are both a must and the Atlantic Village shopping centre which is only five minutes down the road is great. We spent two days on Bude beach which is fantastic for kids with a sea water swimming pool as well as great waves and loads of sand.

Overall we had a fab holiday and it was reasonable priced. We had an 8 berth chalet which was more than adequate with two bathrooms and four bedrooms. Basic but what do you expect from a holiday chalet. It suited us, our 7 year old, my parents, my grown up son and girlfriend and my nephew. Everyone had a good time.
