My sky BB has been upgraded as I am exceeding my usuage. I was told by sky CS to leave router on for 10 days so that they can test the line and the speed will be faster. Is it ok to leave the router on for 10 days as I normally switch it off at the end of the day? Won't it get overheated? Thanks

Routers are made to be left on pretty much 24/7 365 days a year.
I cant remember the last time my router was turned off.0 -

I did turn mine off recently for about an hour, but that was only so I could do some rewiring in the kitchen
Been on constantly for about 6 years, except for the odd 30 second reset when the Virgin servers decide they don't like me (only about once a year thankfully).0 -
I only turn mine off if there is a major problem to reboot it.0

Mine tend to be on for years at a time, doesn't turning them on/off risk shortening the life due to inrush current or isn't that too bad for routers?0
