When you get an incoming call whether from overseas or from with the UK, it is the caller that hangs up the call, it takes a few minutes then for the line to clear. This is why members of a household could answer the phone and if it was for someone else put the phone down and then shout up to the family member that the call was for them and they could pick the phone up and the caller is still there and then take the call.

If however you find the phone blocked out due to the incoming call not being clear as the caller hasn't hung up the call correctly etc, simply once you pick the handset up and find the line still blocked, press the 'Recall' button then wait a couple of seconds, replace the handset, the phone will then ring within a few seconds answer the call, wait a couple of seconds and replace the handset, your line will now be cleared down and when you pick the phone up again you will have a dial tone.

The same happens with cable landlines or other landline providers, this is how the system works.
It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!
