People arent mean, they are telling the truth, would you rather they lie to you and say "dont worry it will all go away", you posted on here for advice which is what you have got, its upto you whether you take the advice
  • But you dont always pay you way, you got caught using someone elses ticket, how is that paying your way?

Now the fine might be outrageous and I dont dispute it seems disproportionate to avoid paying a ticket and or fine, but unless they messed up here surely they should have given you notice first of a fine? say fair, plus costs and small levy.

People aren't always being mean, sometimes its case of its not what you want to be told, like I mentioned above
always pay my way, i wasnt feeling well that day, at all, and yeah i just wanted to share it with people cuz my friend recoomended this martin lewis guy to help out, but instead people are just mean, with the exeption of one or two..

Chris I'll repeat what others have told you, it might sound mean, but it's nothing less than the truth. You broke the law, You chose to ignore the court proceedings. The fine has only reached this level because you treated the proceedings with contempt. Anybody telling you otherwise is not being honest with you. It's an expensive lesson, but I bet you'll never forget it. Now go back to the court and ask them to arrange a repayment schedule. If it is a court fine, you don't want the police turning up with an arrest warrant.

Chris, contact the court tomorrow and see what hey can do. Regardless of the rights and wrongs, I think this is excessive - penalties should be proportionate to the offence and not out to ruin someone for the sake of a £1 unpaid fare. Also there is no need to be rude, or rub it in - Chris knows he's done wrong, and by the sound of it has been through enough. I hope it works out - Best of luck.
