Would Avast Resident Protection use 100% of the CPU? I have a 4 year old Dell Dimension DE051 with a 2.8ghz Intel Celeron and 2gb RAM. I've run Spybot / SpywareBlaster, CCleaner, Malwarebytes and HijackThis. Here are the logs if someone could please look and see if there's anything else causing the 100% CPU use. Thanks.

The main problem you have is you have both Mcafee and Avast running
    use the MCAFEE REMOVAL TOOL
    http://service.mcafee.com/FAQDocument.aspx?id=TS100507

Thanks for the reply. The McAfee is A-OHell's free firewall. Is Avast a firewall as well then?

No, the free version is an anti-virus program only, but unless you have disabled all of McAffee's anti-virus functions, it's quite likely that they will fight with the similar functions which Avast incorporates.

Provided you have a router, and not a USB-connected broadband modem, the firewall that is bundled with Windows is probably all you need, so I would uninstall the whole of McAffee using the tool that Alienrik pointed to, and then turn on the Windows firewall.
