What are my rights here?? Carpet issue

Bought a carpet in september last year from Carpet Right. The carpet is advertised as hard wearing, stain proof (you can clean it with bleach apparently!) and suitable for every area in the house including bathrooms.

24 hours after install I had to spot clean a couple of small areas due to some emulsion paint being dropped on it. One of my dogs then had an accident which was cleaned up immediately as per instuctions on the CR website and I used my vax to clean the area properly. We then had a water spill on the top landing - teenage son messing about with a hot water bottle and he spilled it (child size bottle, cold water). Again vax used to suck up spill.

2 Months after install I noticed areas of wrinkling on 2 areas of the carpet where the water had been spilled and the dog had wee'd.

Called CR who insisted it must be a fitting problem and sent out a fitter to look. When he pulled back the carpet on the top landing it was evident that the backing of the carpet had detached from the carpet itself (water spill area) and same had happened where I'd had to clean the carpet where the dog had wee'd.

CR refuse to acknowledge a problem with the carpet and blame Local damage as the cause, seem the fact I have 2 dogs doesn't help either as the manger at the store quoted this as one of the reasons when I spoke to her.

I have been told by CR to get the carpet tested myself and they will re consider if there is a fault found.

Since my initial complaint the small areas that were spot cleaned on day 1 have now wrinkled, and I have an area at my bathroom door that is wrinkling too, I can only assume this is due to damp feet coming out of the bathroom onto the carpet. Notified CR of this and they are still quoting local damage (don't seem to be able to get past the original complaint and wont entertain the new areas of damage)

It is going to cost £90 plus VAT to have the carpet tested.

Is there any legislation I am covered by, as this carpet is advertised as being able to be cleaned, yet when I have done this the backing has deteriorated. It is also sold as being suitable for bathrooms, but In my view would not be. I expressley asked the sales woman for a carpet that would withstand cleaning as I have kids, dogs and stepkids at the weekend.

Any advice much appreciated.

p.s I know that if it was only the area where the dog wee'd I'd have no cause to complain but as its happening in other areas I think the carpet is faulty.

I'd go ahead and pay the £90 to get the carpet tested, but make sure it's an independent person who does the investigation, who has nothing to do with CR.
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)
