    If its a direct debit then MBNA have made an error so under the DD guarantee scheme you are entitled to an immediate and full refund by your bank. You will most likely need to go into the branch, also MBNA should be paying any bank charges but your bank may waive these. You could try ringing your bank to see if you can claim over the phone.

    Also MBNA are very difficult when you are in trouble they can be a nightmare to agree to payment plans - many customers have told me some awfull stories about their collections department. But I think someone like Payplan?? one of the free debt advisers can help get a reasonable payment plan in place
