Using Visa Electron for Tesco online shopping?

Been with Tesco for years, but I am totally fed up with them - I can't use my Electron. They were rubbish in the bad weather - I understand if the snow is bad, and accept that, but 2 of the 4 non deliveries in 10 days, were because the van broke down!!! I am housebound so you can imagine how i felt about that.
Anyway, because of recommendations on another site, I have tried Ocado this week - am very pleased with it all - no subs, pleasant driver, kept fully informed etc, and the food tastes great ( Waitrose Collab)!! We will see how they perform over the next few weeks, but so far so good.

Oh and they accept Electron!

I asked them a few weeks ago & received this reply back:

I appreciate you enquiring why we do not accept Visa Electron Cards as a method of payment in our online stores.

Unfortunately, as Electron Cards were not originally designed for use online, due to the issuers insisting that the cardholder had to be present at the time of the transaction.

This situation has recently changed and Electron cards can now be used online however, at present our site is still unable to accept these cards as a method of payment.

Hi,

I didn't think that Ocado accepted Visa Electron online? I tried last year & was also told that they don't. Also, on their site (under payment methods) it says: Not accepted: Solo, Electron, Cash or Cheques

I dont know if this is any use, but i order dvds off tesco and they accept my visa electron. Maybe its just home delivery
