Sorry to hear about your grandmother,,, I dont really know why they have planned a meeting with you but I expect its because they need to discuss your grannys future care ,where you will be able to ask them various questions about her health that you need to know.

Beings she is 87 yrs old and as always they need the beds they may want to transfer her to a care home .I saw a lot of this when my husband was in the stroke ward, mind you he was only 49 years old , but as you do you get talking to other people while being in hospital and most relatives were saying this sort of thing to me .

Let us know how the meeting go and I hope all goes well.

Thanks for your reply, i have that feeling that they might suggest her going in a care home i dont know how she would react she has always said she would never like to end up in one. I know that we couldnt care for her if she was to move in with us she cant walk and we would need to take her upstairs to bed. I will let you know what is said at the meeting.

Resist any questions about your grandmother's assets until they have assessed her health needs - it's complicated (which I know isn't what you want to hear right now) but if you look on the Silver Savers board at threads about Continuing Care you will find lots of helpful information!

Had the meeting today it was to discuss my grandmas stroke telling us how she is getting on, they are going to acess her again in 2wks to then discuss whats best for her living accomodation etc. She has suprised us by being able to move her left arm after not being able to move it at all.
