My parents in Australia receive a portion of their British pension, or rather than a portion, they receive pension pro rata to what they have worked and contributed in the UK.0

Some good information on the Govt site http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/BritonsLivingAbroad/Moneyabroad/DG_4000013 - will be something on there about annual increases due to (UK) inflation, some countries don't get this.0

Yes. State Pension can be received anywhere in the world, although in some countries you won't get the annual increases.
(This assumes you have actually qualified for it by paying/being credited with enough NI.).(AKA HRH_MUngo)
