getting a new windows 7 pc what do i do first

i have searched for a general window 7 thread but can not find one

i just want to pick your brains as you are all so helpful & brainy :rotfl:

i should be picking my pc next week from scan
what to i do first - a full backup so it can be restored if nec - do i need any new software or is there something included in windows

any links to compatiable software hardware lists would also be great

i am also going to buy this - from what i have read it works okay

A More than capable Backup & Restore is in the Win7 package you won't need anything extra - when it makes your backup it offers to make a Restore CD at the same time.

If however you have only one hard drive you will have to make the Backup to DVD's
