They should not allow you to go over your limit when purchasing online. If you do you will be hit with lots of fees.0

The standard reply you'll get from a credit card company you when you call up to complain about the over-limit charges and loss of promotion is that it's not the responsibility of the card company to prevent you from going over your limit

They probably will. After that purchase, your bank will charge you over the limit fees which may also lead to increasing the interest rate. This may seem like an stupid question but...Will a capital 1/barclays card let you purchase something online if it exceeds your credit limit? and if so,,,what happens regarding charges atc??
It is certainly up to you if you want to go over the limit.Mr. Mulla0 -
It depends on whether or not the transaction is verified with the card holder or not. So it depends on a range of things that include the retailer, the connection to the card company and the size of the transaction. This may seem like an stupid question but...Will a capital 1/barclays card let you purchase something online if it exceeds your credit limit?
A larger transaction may be bounced, a smaller transaction may go through.
You get an overlimit charge (typically £12) and then, a few weeks later, your interest rate may increase, sometimes significantly.and if so,,,what happens regarding charges atc??
It isn't worth the risk.
Why do you ask the question?0
