How can I make my own dry night bed sheet for my son.

Have seen the disposable sheets that you put under the child's bed so that if they wee themselves your bed is saved. I have also seen that you can get reusable ones that cost £25 from specialist shops.
How can I make my own? Ideally using things around the house.
Should I just get a bin liner then stick it to a bed towel? Have you made your own. What are the best materials to use. If I don't have all the right materials to use I can ask my friends what they have at home that I can use to make it.
Thanks MSEs

How about a shower curtain sewn to a bath towel and maybe add a layer of sheet over the top so he's not sleeping on the rough towel?Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76

Great SugarSpun & Fayhare... I would have not thought of a shower curtain.
I don't have a spare one but will look for one from the charity shops.
Thanks so much. You have saved me a lot of money.“…the ‘insatiability doctrine – we spend money we don’t have, on things we don’t need, to make impressions that don’t last, on people we don’t care about.” Professor Tim Jackson

SugarSpun I like you listing all your challenges for this year. I am going to copy you and do the same...“…the ‘insatiability doctrine – we spend money we don’t have, on things we don’t need, to make impressions that don’t last, on people we don’t care about.” Professor Tim Jackson

If you can't find one in a charity shop, many places such as asda/ tesco or ikea sell then for as little as £2.99.
Also you could try using an old plastic table cloth (or again if you can't find one in charity shop they have them for 99p in Asda) and just use it like a flat sheet, with a normal sheet on top to hold it in place.0 -
fernlie, that is what i use when my not very reliable grand-daughter stays over. I dont mind washing the sheet as they stay weekends and would be washed on monday anyway.
if i had her over for longer would prob buy either another tablecloth or a shower curtain and stitch them to old bath towels to save washing sheets all the time!0 -
I use a waterproof matress cover for my daughter, covered by an ordinary fitted sheet. It cost about £8.0

Id watch which kinds of plastic u get because some are noisy!
You can get terry sheets with plastic built in:

As you may have to wash the sheet anyway. Ive also seen kids packs around with mattress and quilt protectors in a set.0 -
How about asking for one on freecycle before you make one??? May save you a bit of time & effort!0
