cant open links/some pages

overnight something happened on my computer and now i cannot open links - i was trying to get to some free virus scanners to see if it would identify the problem - and some of my pages in favourites wont open...........aaaarrghhhhhhhh

is it just inyour favourties list? if you type the address in manually does it work?
its just my parents had a virus which changed everyone of their links to some stupid search page that then searched for the page.
might be worth running an online scanner of some description like panda or the new windows one.0 -
To have a go at solving the problem try this
Open IE Tools
Click Internet Options,
Programs Tab,
Click Reset Web Settings, remove tick from reset homepage and then click
YES then OK
now try the links
