Plenty of good advice here, but barring run-out models or the refurb store, you will never beat the higher edu discount. Save up! They've done 0% interest a few times in the run up to Christmas over the years.

it was betwen 15nov09 and 8jan10

i'm following on mac rumours on don't buy with update soon, but i wish it was soon, as needing an upgrade. grudge paying top dollar for a spec which is at the end of its product life cycle, so might consider a cheaper pc laptop

Don't know if you managed to get one.... but I got my Macbook from argos on buy now pay 9 months later. They may have Pro's available online although you may have to apply for an account card.
  • I bought my macbook about 5 years ago, and paid for it on a 24 month 0% finance deal with Andertons music company in Guildford, which is my local store and a very top quality store. Great service, I didn't feel any impact from the finance deal whatsoever and at the time I was a commis chef earning minimum wage.

I have to add that along with the macbook I also bought logic pro, speakers and an interface. I was buying for the music side of things... and spent a good deal of money. Therefore I think this is why I was able to get a 24 month finance deal... unless it was a promotion at the time.

THE IMPORTANT BIT: I have however just looked at their website and it looks as though they're offering a 9 month 0% finance deal on Macbook Pros however you have to start with a 40% deposit. If I remember correctly they also told me at the time I bought my macbook that I could get a further discount for being a student. The link to the finance deals they offer on Macbook Pro's is here:

ok as I'm a new user I'm not allowed to post links to prevent spamming so heres a broken link you'll have to delete the spaces in:
