going back to work after being on income support

i 'm becomeing self emplyed as off monday ,i filledin all paperwork for tax credit,housing benefit,in work credits etc.
howlong doesit take to have a payemnt from tax credits, in work credits and the £250 back to work grant?
the jobcenter told me no more than 10 working days or 2 weeks but has you can imagine i'm a singlemum so i'm concerned

You can only go by what they have told you,as everyone will have different experiences.

Back to work grant should only take about a week to come through, comes as a giro. Or at least it did a few years ago when I got it.
Tax credits is impossible to say, depends how long it takes them to update their system etc

When I went back to work they were very efficient. Money was in the bank before the letters arrived. However when I went on Income support (3 years previously) it was very different and slow. My back to work grant went into my account.
