I contacted VOSA, but as it looks as if the car fell during the service - then there's not much they can do. The garage had said they would do the MOT first and then the service. (I took the car in at 9.00 am and got the phone call at 12.44 pm).

    Well they would say that.;)

I would be wanting it checked out fully by someone independent not at your expense, you dont know what unseen damage there could be,depending on how far it fell.
Sorry to quote myself but has it been checked for any other damage?
 Am thinking of a new one:beer:

Did all the running around today. Took it to 2 independent garages. The estimated cost to repair what can visually be seen is approx £850. In addition, one of them is not sure what the bumper is hiding - he looked under the bonnet and could see something "hanging" - so that could be something else.
I should add these were the findings:
    Replace front bumper bar
    Replace grille
    Replace both headlamps
    Repair wing
    Repair/realign front panels
    Adjust headlamps
    Paint
  • I`m sad my prediction came true. A bodged repair by halfbakes. Get it up them. Did you contact their public liability insurers and HSE? Sounds to me like they thought they would chance their hand with a bodge repair in the hope you wouldn`t notice, then made up some porkies when you queried it.
