Would like a bit of advice.
Sometime back little sister considered buying her broadband connection through BT, however, before it was set up she decided to use Sky as her provider.
Before switching to Sky BT sent her one of their BT Hubs (free) but as she never connected to it, it's never been out of its original package. She contacted BT on at least 3 occasions but they never bothered making any arrangements to get the Hub back, so she reckons she has fulfilled her part of the contract and BT don't want the Hub back.
I'm operating a netgear dg834g wireless router and have been offered the Hub from little sister. The question is this. Is the Hub any better than the Netgear and if I decided to use the Hub as opposed to my old Netgear what differences if any can I expect? It's a pretty big piece of equipment, compared to Netgear, so will it offer me any additional advantages that I'm not getting now?
By the way my SP is Freed2Surf
Any comments re the Hub welcomed.

Have a look on this website for info about BT's Home Hub. There are different versions with different features:

I use a HH Version 1.0 which is still going strong after a few years, although I am looking at getting a Netgear 3300 or 3500 (when available) as I want Wireless N capability.

The BT HomeHub has to be the worst peace of equipment ever. Stick with the very reliable and great netgear

Thanks for the reply Ghandi, this seems to be my answer:
Unless I was sure that it would give me a good added advantage then I won't go down that road and I certainly don't want to be fiddling with equipement for the sake of fiddling. Can I use a Home Hub on a non-BT line? We've been asked if the BT Home Hub can be used on Broadband connections other than BT Total Broadband. Our understanding is that the BT Home Hub can only be used on a phone line that's enabled for BT Total Broadband, and not with other providers (such as TalkTalk, Virgin Media, AOL etc).
PCOMBO care to expand on you views as to why
I agree the Netgear is very reliable. The BT HomeHub has to be the worst peace of equipment ever0
