Credit Card Refund

Bought a electric fire off the internet and its not suitable. Rang the company but as I notified them 7 days after the delivery date they say there is nothing I can do. Can I claim back from my credit card?

I am almost certain that you can claim back on CC if you have had issues with delivery of items or item was faulty, you cannot just simply claim back because you've changed your mind

Agree with the previous poster - the question is why it isn't suitable ...

Also depends on how much you paid for it
  • I would phone the credit card company and see if they can help - I know Barclaycard protects you up to £100 but that is if things are faulty not if you change your mind - I believe that if the product is not as advertised you are covered too but I am not 100% sure on that.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

In respect to posts #2 and #3, your advice is incorrect.

IF OP bought the item of the internet, then Distance Selling Regulations come into effect. You can return the goods to the seller for a full refund even if they are not faulty - and you dont have to cite any reasons.
No Longer works for MBNA as of August 2010 - redundancy money will be nice though.

The cooling off period still apply, which is 7 days in that case...it is quite clear on the OFT website

Big question here is was it within 7 working days (after delivery) or after.
