how to scan and or fax on this printer

i have a epson bx300f all in one as here

i cant see in the instruction book that it is a scanner as in i can scan to computer and save....
I have this morning been trying to fax a dcoument and it seems to scan the document but when it dials the number it says No dial tone ?

if it scans it does not show on computer anywhere that i can save it as a document ....and then forward by email.
can anyone help me ?

  • HAve you plugged in the Phone cable
    Did you install the software on the PC and then use scan icon or did use use twain from another program

    sorry ? what phone cable ? i dont seem to have one.
    does that go from the tower to where ?
    i have a cable that has 2 clear bits on the end of it both same size they look like a phone type socket....
    also have adisk that came with printer saying software cd rom disk on it

    Run the disk with the software on the PC but first disconnect the Printer USB From the PC. until the software tells you to connect the printer.
    There should also be a cable with Phone size plug on one end and a smaller size similar plug on the other end or having just read again your post it might just have two phone socket size plugs, one goes in the right side of the printer and the other goes into your phone socket.

    i,m running the disc now...havnt unplugged the printer should i do it now ? or run disc again ?

    download the manual and read it .. it usually tells you where the cables go.. :)
