Banking services Black list

Is there such a thing? My wife had a mortgage turned down by Birminham Midshires becuase the financial advisor made an error on the application form regarding her earnings, I have a statement from him as proof. Since then my wife has been unable to get any level of credit and not even will the bank where she has banked for 25 years with no problem give her any level of service (Barclays) I think that BM have alerted them to something that was wrong. I think this is some kind od black list. Her ctredit score with Experien and Equifax is sound excellant. Help

  • There is no such thing as a black list as such, but if an error on an application was made then she will most likely have a CIFAS mark against her name. this is a Fraud indicator that is placed on her credit file and pretty much scupper every application that is made.

if it was an error though it should be pretty easy to have removed

  • As mentioned, check CIFAS issues, pull all 3 credit files, not all the time and expense you go to, all the time spent already and then claim against this idiot advisor. Your hourly claim rate is not your salary divided down to the hour but the amount you would be able to get were someone asking you to do a one off job or contract.

You also want compensation. Get your case together, approach this advisor if self employed or his top brass if through a company and tell them that you want compensated. If they refuse, tell them to put their insurers on notice that you intend to sue and then sue him through the small claims court.

This clown has messed with your life in a serious manner. They have to pay to rectify the situation.
