tesco - marks and Lloyds -

Can anyone help? Hubbie has had to buy a new van

I have a 0% tesco card in the post but the auction place won't take visa cards.

Can anyone explain - or advise about the Marks and Spencers travellers cheques in sterling thing - (if it is still going.)

We would need to buy £3,000 of them. And am I right in saving I put them into our Lloyds account and then thats that ??

How much will this cost us?

Order online or by phone, or purchase at an in-store bureau de change.

Take to bank and pay in.

    Wait for them to clear*

    Buy van :D

I bought >£8,000 of them (from 2 bureaux de change an hour apart 18 months ago).

    Yep.

    1%, so £30 on £3K.

See the M&S 'travel money' section & summary box on their website for the finite detail.

    * LTSB cleared mine instantly as cash last time (18 months or so ago).

:j:j Oh thank you very much.

Funny how things like this happen at the very wrong time:rolleyes:

Now if anyone is thinking of bursting my joy and telling me it can't be done anymore, please do it soon......

Oh and then all I have to do is to set up a direct debit for min payment each month?

YB, did this only work when the M&S travellers cheques were paid for with the M&S 0% card offer to avoid it being treated as a cash advance?

Exactly right. They qualify for 0% for 10 months.

Are we saying only the M&S card can be used to do this with? Was going tomorrow with my tesco one?
