in Credit cards
I have been with RBS for over 2 years, and have recently applied for a credit card - but was turned down.
I earn £14,000 per year, which is £965 per month, which goes into this bank account, and has been for about a year.
I have no defaults, does anyone know of any other reason I would be rejected?

Possibly because you have missed payments on your catalogue and mobile phones, possibly because you are not on the electoral roll for the property you reside at.
Could be a number of reasons, although I do think a lot of credit card companies are being stricter with their lending.0 -
Ahhh thanks for your help.
Getting my own flat in April so hopefully will be on the electoral roll then, will have to wait and see!House Fund: £750.00

I've been with RBS for nearly 6 years, and they wont give me a credit card either.......but saying that i do have £15000 of unsecured debt with them :eek:0 -
LMAO they've changed.
September 2007, age of 20, on a £15,000 salary, walked into RBS new customer, walked out with a £1,000 overdraft, £4,050 credit card, and £20,000 loan.
Suffice it to say not long after I was at my local court declaring BR.
I think they might have tightened up their criteria a bit after that performance. Sorry! My fault(Doubt I'll get a "Thanks" for that)
