Should i claim carers allowance

Hi,
After speaking with the advisors from the carers allowance unit I am not sure that i would benefit in putting a claim in. My son is in receipt of HRC, & LRM, I receive contribution based ESA, just passed the medicals. My husband works full time and earns approx £30k, I have informed CTC and am waiting their new award to be issued. I worked up untill Aug last year had to leave due to poor health. Anyway the CA advisor said as I get cont based ESA I would not get carers allowance, I asked about the underlying entitlement and if it would benefit me in anyway, she said no it wouldnt. I am hoping someone may be able to confirm if this is correct if not what would the benefit be?????
Thanks in advance

no, claiming carers allowance would not benefit you. underlying entitlement gets a person £29.50 a week if they're on a means tested benefit, you don't qualify due to your husband's income.0
