Jeez! it's a band of metal, not life and death!!:T
I think your other half should start running.....and keep running.:j
Tell me - do all your posts make you sound like a complete knobhead?0 -
You wouldnt be able to claim anything for the emotional trauma,
However you are legally entitled to a refund of monies spent returning the ring so you should claim for that, the company will probably not want to pay but you will be able to go through small claims.0 -
On what basis is OP not entitled to claim for the disappointment?
I reckon she is totally entitled to compensation for that.0 -
I don't think you should bother trying for damages. It is a lot of hassle and stress to take the company to court, and since you already have a refund despite all the work they have already done, I would forget about it and move on.0

A couple of thoughts:
If you paid for it with a credit, rather than a debit, card then the card provider is jointly liable so you can seek redress from them and if necessary take them to the Financial Ombudsman Service (free).
From Banbury, I would suggest going to the Jewellery Quarter in Birmingham0 -
I also think you are being OTT, as far as I can see the shop have tried to redress things on several occasions but have been let down by a third part (which has no consequence to you).
Accept the full refund and move on.Always ask ACAS0 -
I think I'd kick up as much fuss as possible with the shop & threaten with further action but probably wouldn't follow through as it's so much hassle! I don't think they should be able to get away with treating customers like that.
I'm from MK and am feeling very thankful that I didn't go to Leslie Davis for our wedding rings! We went to a little independant shop in Leighton Buzzard that were great (but to be fair, we haven't got the rings just yet - fingers crossed!).
Hope you get it sorted out - let us know how you get on!0
