west end theatre tickets...

Hi guys, having not been to london before we are going down 4th and 5th april and are looking to take in a show. We are thinking of the lion king as we are taking our nine year old daughter with us. Question is how would we go about getting tickets, ideally with it being a bank holiday i think demand would be quite high so looking to buy in advance to avoid dissapointment... we need three tickets, any advice, links, tips etc are much appreciated.....

  • Whenever we go to London we always get tickets from the half price ticket booth in Leicester square. The only thing is you never know whats going to be available. They do normally have quite a good selection though. We,ve always been quite lucky and had some fab weekends in London. I say to the children that we might go to see a show, then we don't have to worry if we can't get anything suitable. Hope you get the tickets and have a super time! :)

If you don't want to risk the ticket booths in London, you can usually get them from Ticketmaster. Although they will be full price, if you have a ticket centre near you you can save on admin/booking and postage costs. For a show like The Lion King, especially with a child it might be better to get seats in the stalls, but these are expensive. I got the cheaper ones in the grand circle, which is the top balcony. You aren't that far away and it gives a good overview of everything that is going on.
