Toby carvery-cheaper option

Instead of paying for the usual carvery, it is cheaper to order from the pub menu-order a carvery sandwich/baguette (can't remember what they call it) which gives you the option of having all the meats in a sandwich & just pay £1 extra to help yourself to all the vegetables. All you do is go to the carvery with your receipt & make sure you ask for a large plate, or they will give you a small one, & then stuff yourself stupid! And you get the bread as well for less than the price of the carvery! Bargain! I will not be held responsible for excessive weight gain as a result of this tip.

I am not sure on costs, but I know it's cheaper if you go before 7. If we go mine usually costs about £5 ish and my partner has a plate just of veg and potatoes as she doesn't eat the meat and that comes to about £4. I think it's a pound or two more for the meat option after 7
To those who are given much, much is expected

      1. By the way, you can also get a baguette instead of the bread for the same price, although it's not advertised on the menu-just ask!

        I think the cost £3.70
      3. I dont get it?
£5 gets you a slection of roasted meats, yorkshire, stuffing, veg's + ice cream.
£4.70 gets you an unusual combination sandwich + veg with no icecream!
I think i'll pay the £5 and get a balanced amount of protein with my carb!
Sanwiches with veg, roasters and gravy are wrong!

The £5 deal of a carvery and ice cream was a limited offer using a voucher, that has finished now (though it does pop up every few months). It is available only Mon-Sat before 6.30pm. The other deal is available all the time i.e evenings and Sundays when my local carvery charges nearly £9 for just the Carvery, without an ice cream, so £4.70 is just over half the price I usually would pay for those times. They do do a deal for £5 before 6.30pm at my local weekdays, so this would only save me 30p and get me a free baguette at those times.

I personally too would not like the baguette with meat and veg on the same plate, so I would take out the meat and put it on the same plate as the gravy and veg and eat the baguette separate.
