Applying for tesco credit card

I am interested in applying for a tesco cc, A bit of background I earn £24000 per year.

I currently owe

Barclaycard platinum £100 limit £3000
Cap One £20.00 limit £200
Next £40.00 limit £1000
Overdraft £0 limit £1100
Barclay loan plus £11000 just started paying this month.

I am showing on my CRA a history of 0's for about 12months as have been building up my credit history..

No late payments or marks have been living at my address for 4 years..

Thing is im gonna be moving within the next couple of months so basically it is now or much later for the card .

As I have a limited credit history what do you think my chances are I am on the electoral roll..

Thanks:):)

The number of searches on your report in the last 6 months can make a difference too.

2 credit cards with negligible balances won't make any difference.

Definitely apply before you move. Ideally, apply before the Barclay loan for £11k appears on your credit report too ;)

If the Barclay loan is already showing, you've got £16,300 of available credit so far, so 68% of salary which is pretty decent in the current climate.

If you apply for the Tesco card and they reject you, you should appeal on the basis that you're looking to close your Barclaycard and CapOne cards and have a single card from a reputable provider.

    Hi

Thank you for your advice , I have no searches in the last 6 months. My Barclaycard is showing 12 green 0's. My Capital One is showing 9 green. My Next account which wasnt showing on my experian due to a admin error will be showing up from February that will be showing 8 green 0's and my Bank account is showing 4 years of 0's.

My loan is not showing there at the moment just my old one which is shown as settled.

Shall I wait until my next one is on there to better my chances or just got for it ..

    ..

    Many Thanks

You mean when 11K loan appears taking your total credit up to 68% of salary from it's current 18%?

    Nope, 100% definitely not.

    Do it immediately.

  • Hi

Well I applied for the card and got accepted but with a low limit of £800 but that is cool,

I would like to keep my barclaycard but have still got my capital one which I pay in full in month.

Now I have this extra card shall I close the capital one card as it was originally to build my credit history..

    Thanks

Congratulations - now to write the letter of appeal to request they increase the limit to deal with those larger purchases you were looking to make .... ;)
