Scottish Power online readings not updating account
Comments

Hi,
I've submitted my meter readings online to Scottish Power a couple of times recently but they aren't updating the account balance. Is anyone else having this problem?
You can submit readings more than once per billing period can't you?
Thanks
Not sure what you are asking? The online bill will take 1 - 2 days then you will get an updated balance! what do you mean by a billing period?0 -
Hi,
I'm on monthly DD and put mine in on 15th each month, as I like to know where I stand (prefer being in credit), normally updated next day, I then get a statement about a week later.0 -
I do mine on the 10th of each month and had no problem this month. You can definitely do it more often as I input the figures fortnightly over Christmas. The full bill is available to read after 1 or 2 days.0

How does this sit with Scottish Power paying interest on credit balances, announced last spring? I don't enter readings until I have to so that the credit balance is at its maximum.0

I noticed this too and emailed S.P.
This is their response:
Dear Mr xxxx,
Thank you for your email.
As per your email I have checked your account and can confirm you that you
can update the meter readings however you will not be able to bill your
account whenever you want, your bill generates quarterly and you can
update the meter readings whenever you feel so.
Whereas, if you email us the meter readings then we can bill your account
on the basis of the meter readings provided by you.

When you update it online, it asks you first for the meter reading and then shows you how much credit or debit you are in, but you have to hit submit on that screen before it will actually register it, so make sure you do the last step. I update mine weekly so you can definitely do it more than once per billing period. It's not easy having a good time. Even smiling makes my face ache.0

I've just put them in again. All I get is a message saying thank you for submitting the readings and that they may still need to come round to make a reading themselves. The screen where you enter the readings shows the most recent figures I previously entered but the current balance is just staying the same - only my DD payments are updating the balance.0

Which is why I pasted their response to my exact same query:As per your email I have checked your account and can confirm you that you

Sorry I get it now. I think last year I submitted my readings soon before I received a paper bill and I've linked both events in my mind although it was just a coincidence that they happened together
I'll know where I stand this time next month. I reckon I could be in credit by close to the 3 x monthly payment level which triggers an automatic repayment..0
