A quick question about Win 7 upgrade. I aready bought the full version of Home Premium which I used on my PC to upgrade from Vista. Quite happy with that.
I've now had the chance to buy an upgrade copy of Win 7 Pro which I'd like to use on the PC and then use the other license to install on my mac. I know that technically I could probably do this by reinstalling Vista on the PC then using the W7 Pro upgrade disk on the PC. I could then use the W7 HP disc in the mac.
I was wondering if it would be possible to skip the whole Vista step and just upgrade the PC to Pro and use the HP license on my mac. Basically I've got licenses for everything I'd just like it to be simple

there is precisely zero difference between 'full' and 'upgrade' editions of Win7 (that you can't get around by typing two commands in during the install), see here for the procedure:

no idea what you are talking about referring to HP license? only microsoft license windows, if its a RETAIL copy (ie you bought it in a box) then you just reinstall it as you did first time, if its OEM and came pre-installed when you bought the computer the license is non transferrable off the original machine (and OEM license keys don't work with RETAIL install disks for precisely that reason.0 -

Sorry, HP = Home Premium - I got tired of typing it out so much
The HP was a boxed retail which I got at launch. The Pro version is a student upgrade. Technically I could use the HP license on any single computer but could transfer it if I wanted to at a later date provided I only have it on one system at a time. The Pro may be a little less flexible though.Space for rent, apply within - Free trial on Thanks button though0
