Have been a Direct Line customer for a few years now and always been happy with their quotation - very competative - and their customer service. Received my renewal a few weeks ago and it had gone up by nearly £30.00 so went on the GoCompare website.
Found three quotes cheaper by about £25.00 so telephoned Direct Line and told them I was not happy. Confirmed the cheapest quote as they requested and they then beat it by a fiver!
Result - ended up paying less than last year and they kept my business. If in doubt complain and haggle !:)
