Living in Singapore for a year - what insurance

Hi,
my partner and I are about to move to Singapore for a year. We're not taking any furniture or anything, just the odd home comfort (OH's video games console for instance). The only other high value items we have are my engagement ring (not sure exactly, but around £1000), a watch at £220, camera (£300) and the usual bumf.
Does anyone have any idea whether we should get travel insurance, say a year's backpacker policy or just get contents insurance when we're there (we'll be provided with medical insurance by work).
Some one mentioned expat insurance, but that seems to be medical insurance, which we don't need.
has anyone done this before?
Thanks

yes I have. and my father was provided with medical insurance at work (it is very good if you look at it, generally it will be the expat health insurance for worldwide cover. Anyway for the amount of items you are taken over I would not really brother insuring it expect maybe the ring. Most of the backpacker policies cover for medical (which is already cover) processions for about the level you got (ring is a bit over standard policy but if you call them up, explain they can increase it quite often at no extra charge.) And delay / cancel flights. If you can wait a day (I just have to do remote assistance to help a friend on his computer I can look and see how much a year back packer insurance will cost, how much would "flight" insurance cost and how much just for the ring to be covered. About taken cover whilst there, you will find it a bit difficult cause of time, residence, and also cost will be a bit high cause they expect a bit more to cover than that. Oh dogs barking time to go0
