You've got me intriged now, when I worked in a supermarket, (back end 1990s), code 100 was shoplifter all male staff to attend, and code 50 was suspected shop lifter, store manager or duty manager to attend.

when I worked at Wilkinsons it was to deter shop lifters although that was several years ago.Maybe they use it now to tell staff to face up.0
