Is your new computer a laptop?
How did your old computer connect to the internet?

If its a desktop machine then its simply a matter of plugging your existing Ethernet cable into the back of it, and starting your internet browser.
That gum you like is coming back in style.

LOL you dont need a disc to do it, have you installed all the drivers for it, they usually come on cd's and if you have followed the instructions then you would have done the drivers. Ive not bought a computer for years so it could have changed in terms of instructions
  • Ohh, just plug in the Ethernet cable and away you go, no drivers, cd's, no ISP involved.

so these days everything is pre loaded like drivers etc,

in that case OP do as total solutions says and just make sure the ethernet cable is plugged in
  • so now days people automatically assume that everyone connects via a router and CAT5 cable????

there are people still out there that use those modems that connect via USB in which case they need to put in the CD to load the software and drivers.

The op may even be on dialup.. you never thought of that did you... so called Techies.

DCFC79. a lot of machines do come with all the drivers to get the machine working but its impossible to load a machine for every device on the planet.
