I love rice pudding, but I was trying to find a healthier alternative to white rice. Can you use brown rice at all?

I would have thought it was too tough and less likely to break down into a cream compared with pudding rice. It would certainly require a longer cooking period and even soaking the rice in advance.
You might be better posting this query on the Old Style Moneysaving side as there are more cooking experts over there!

Try watching 'Mums know best' from BBC last night. They made different rice puddings.0
